📚Books to Help Navigate Parenting ADHD and Emotional Struggles

If you are raising a child with emotional dysregulation, ADHD, anxiety, or other neurodivergent traits, these books have been incredibly helpful to me. Below you will find a list of helpful books for parents of kids with ADHD and emotional regulation.

Reading or listening to audiobooks has helped me realize that I am not alone. The challenges we face are not isolated, and they are not a result of “bad parenting.”

Many of the books listed here go beyond validation. They offer practical tools, strategies, and new ways of thinking about behavior for both parents and educators. While they don’t promise to “fix” our children, they help us better understand why certain behaviors happen and how we can respond with support rather than punishment.

So often, parents are made to feel embarrassed or judged because their child doesn’t fit into a narrow definition of “normal.” We hear opinions from schools, family, friends, and professionals—often conflicting and overwhelming.
